Book Smart

Art Books are something of a mystery to me so I've decided to open my eyes like
the ignorant little clams they are and take a peak at the latest and artiest of art books...

Pink Laser Beam is a giant cosmic art book that contains something like 200 pages of
paper (sometimes in origami form) and plastic (yay) which features new works from
in and around the internet. This is a slightly more grown-up and possibly 'deeper' version of
the books we had as kids that had pop up, foldy, flappy bits. I am still as easily pleased so
think this looks like good fun, it's just a shame it has to come at such an stuffy
not-so-much-fun-now price of ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY big ones.

   2. Alber Elbaz, Lanvin

3. Never Use White Type on a Black Background

4. Fashion Jewellery: Catwalk and Couture

This is the best of the bunch by far because it's so informative, but still has lots of pictures to look at. I'm often stuck as to how to find new jewellery so this book has already introduced me to some amazing designers. The designer below, Jordan Askill is absolutely incredible and worth checking out for some super original fun pieces. This whole exercise has been worth it to find this genius. And on the art book front, it's difficult to justify spending so much on these books because the internet is brimming with infinite inspirational imagery but nothing AND-I-MEAN-NOTHING can beat the smell of a big hard bound book. The choice is yours. X
